As a small family business from Lower Saxony, Hokema develops and produces unique sound miracles – called Kamlimba and Sansua.
Kalimbas, also known as the “thumb piano”, stand for particularly warm and relaxing tones. The preset tunings make melodies particularly easy to play. A special feature, however, are the “Sansulas” developed by Hokema founder Peter Hokema, a wooden frame covered with a drumhead with a Kalimba suspended in the middle. The sound block in the membrane provides a long-lasting, soft tone that can be produced with ease.
